14th of March 2025, students of the united faculty (Yerevan) listened to a lecture on current issues in oncology, which was provided by the deputy chief of the V.P. Avaev Medical Center (Russia, Tver), oncologist - Irina Vladimirovna Evstigneeva.
In addition to the students, the lecture was attended by: Rector of the "Mkhitar Gosh" Armenian-Russian International University Alexander Gennadievich Ivanov, Vice-Rector for Academic affairs Yana Nikolaevna Troynich, Head of the Educational Department Lilit Genrikhovna Potikyan, Methodologist of the Educational Department Ruzanna Sergeevna Akhayan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Naira Ashotovna Kazaryan.
Irina Vladimirovna explained the prevalence and structure of oncological diseases in Russia, Armenia and other countries of the world. Particular attention was paid to the issues of early cancer diagnostics, the importance and role of a doctor in the prevention of this disease. As the lecturer noted, screening and timely referral for consultation to an oncologist is the main criterion for the early detection of cancer. The lecture was accompanied by a demonstration of clinical cases from the practical work of Irina Vladimirovna.
The students and staff of the university listened to the speech with interest, asked questions actively and received meaningful answers.
“We hope that the educational event will be the beginning of long-term and fruitful joint work not only in terms of implementing the curriculum, but also in the scientific and medical fields”, - noted Rector A.G. Ivanov at the end.
