DNA Day is a holiday celebrated on April 25th, which was established in 1953 in honor of the day when the three authors of the discovery of the molecular structure of DNA were published in the journal Nature: James Watson, Francis Crick, Maurice Wilkins, Rosalind Franklin and their colleagues. DNA Day was first celebrated in the United States in 2003 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of DNA double helix discovery․ In April of that year, Human Genome Month was declared in the United States in honor of the completion of the Human Genome Project. Since 2010, the US National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) has celebrated DNA Day every April. Special educational programs are organized every year on this day all over the world.
In this regard, on April 27th, 2019, within the framework of the World DNA Day, a student scientific-practical conference on human hereditary diseases was organized at the "Mkhitar Gosh" Armenian-Russian International University. The conference program is attached.
